Young Living!

Curious about Young Living Essential Oils?
I was, too. And then I waited about a year after going to a party to actually order my own starter kit! Once I got it though, I really ended up loving everything inside it, and now use something or other every day and would love to share this passion for essential oils and wellness with you.

Here are some of the reasons I started looking into essential oils:
1. We have a 20 year old cat. She both "misses" the box and vomits frequently.
2. My husband gets migraine headaches from candles and most artificial scents
3. My daughter and I have extremely sensitive skin
4. I get itchy from a lot of standard cleaners/cleansers and I find them expensive
5. There is usually head lice going around my younger kids' school at all times
6. I like energy drinks but know that they're pretty bad news
7. It's very dry in our house, especially during winter

Through Young Living Essential Oils, I have been able to remedy or at least deal with many of these challenges in a gentle, amazing-smelling way. The diffuser that came with the starter kit has been really useful; you can diffuse any of the oils you like, and we all definitely have our favorites and have fun switching scents with the seasons and creating our own new blends (although my favorite is good old-fashioned lavender).

The oils can be paired with a little baking soda for a safe and easy DIY cleaning scrub (lemon is my favorite for that), or you can actually purchase ready-made cleaners that are great, too. In addition to cleaners for the home, Young Living also makes hair, skin, and beauty products as well as kits for you to make your own, too. Tea Tree oil, also known as Melaleuca Alternifolia, has kept the lice off our kids for the last two years, even when they've been pretty much knee-deep in the thick of it (!) thank God.

In addition to oils, home cleaners, and beauty products, Young Living also has created a product called Ningxia Red, which is a supplemental drink made from wolfberries, fruit juices, vanilla extract, and four fruit essential oils. I drank this when I was running 5Ks and 10Ks a lot, because it gave me that extra boost but wasn't filled with sugar or chemical additives. Now I mix some Ningxia Red with a coconut sparkling water for a fun beverage in the afternoon when I need some energy. When I first tried it, Matt coined it, "TRUE BLOOD," and though it's not heavy or cloying at all, we've kept calling it that through the years.
