Oscar Fun!

I haven't been into the Oscars since about 1998, but I have always enjoyed games, fun events, and any reason to celebrate, so here it is, another contest!

Cast your ballot, here or on Facebook, for each of the main five categories (best picture, actor, actress, supporting actor, supporting actress). Not who you *want* to win, who you think will win. Gift card (TBA, I'm thinking restaurant this time?) for participant who accurately predicts the most winners.

3. Black Swan
4. The Fighter
5. Inception
6. The Kids Are All Right
7. The Social Network
8. Toy Story 3
9. True Grit

2. Annette Bening (in The Kids Are All Right)
3. Nicole Kidman (in Rabbit Hole)
4. Jennifer Lawrence (in Winter's Bone)
5. Michelle Williams (in Blue Valentine)

Best Supporting Actor (choose one)
1. Christian Bale (in The Fighter)
2. Geoffrey Rush (in The King's Speech)
3. Mark Ruffalo (in The Kids Are All Right)
4. Jeremy Renner (in The Town)

this is hard because i don't know who the faves are and i didn't watch the golden globes (or did they not happen yet??) i will go based on what i think tho.

best picture: the social network. seems to be the trendy choice.

best actor: jeff bridges. should be colin firth but the academy hates brits.

actress: portman. she's the darling and, as we know, the academy loves a popularity contest.

supporting actor: geoffrey rush. i dunno, seems like someone they would pick

supporting actress: melissa leo. she just ruled.

Out of all of the nominations listed here, I've only seen Toy Story 3, Inception, True Grit, and ten minutes of the Social Network.

But I'll give it a try.

if the answers are correct, she's getting the gold, since she was timely about submitting them.

Here are my picks (of what I think will win, not necessarily what I think should win!: :)

Best Picture: The King's Speech
Best Actor: Colin Firth
Best Actress: Natalie Portman
Best Supporting Actor: Christian Bale
Best Supporting Actress: Melissa Leo
And, although you did not ask: Best Director: David Fincher.

Like I said, I would LOVE to see Inception win and Chris Nolan FINALLY get recognized for his GENIUSNESS, but it's not gonna happen. Still, I have definitely seen worse nominations in years past. We will see!
